2009: Miami, Florida – David Robbins, M.D., Neurology Associates Group's Medical Director extends his medical talent to local and national research efforts seeking to enhance the quality of life for patients with neurological disorders.

Categorized as "The Future of the Neurology Field", Dr. David Robbins currently serves as the Primary Investigator for SAMMPRIS at Memorial Hospital, a study designed to show the effectiveness of an intracranial stent to prevent recurrent strokes in patients with intracranial atherosclerotic disease.

Dr. Robbins is also participating in the National Institute of Health's (NIH) genetics repository. This NIH study is designed to find genetic material associated with neurologic diseases, such as strokes, seizures or Parkinson's. Given the population diversity of South Florida, Dr. Robbins has contributed a large number of samples from minorities, particularly Hispanics. Because of his efforts, Dr. Robbins has been recognized as the 2^nd largest contributor for providing genetic samples to this NIH repository.

Additionally, Dr. Robbins currently serves on Memorial Hospital West's Stroke Council, and through his participation has assisted the hospital in achieving JCAHO accreditation as a Certified Stroke Center.

A founder of Neurology Associates Group in 1998, Dr. Robbins earned his M.D. at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He served as Chief Resident in Neurology while completing his Neurology Residency at the University of Rochester. Later at Tufts University, Dr. Robbins completed a fellowship in Neuromuscular Disease, Nerve Conduction Testing and Electromyography.
